The business
behind the business.

EL Business Operations and Development exists for one reason: to give founders and entrepreneurs the business operations support they need to scale — without the overhead of building an in-house team before they’re ready. Every service offered here comes from real experience inside real businesses.

Where EL came from –
and why it exists

Business was never something Ericka discovered — it was something she grew up in. Raised in Manila, Philippines, she was surrounded by entrepreneurship from the start. Her family ran their own ventures, including a learning center for pre-K through preparatory students, where she helped with the day-to-day operations. In her college years, she took that instinct further — managing her own stall at Manila’s bazaars, sourcing clothes and goods from trips across Southeast Asia and the US, and overseeing her family’s fruit kiosks in supermarkets across the city. Long before she had a professional title, she had the experience.

That foundation followed her to Irvine, CA where she built a career supporting CEOs and presidents across finance, construction, biotech, software, and education. The further she went, the clearer one thing became: the founders and entrepreneurs who need the most support are often the least equipped to ask for it — not because they don’t recognize the need, but because finding the right person takes time they don’t have.

The business began as a personal assistant engagement for a small business owner in the finance sector. Over time, that engagement deepened — expanding into operations, strategy, hiring, marketing, and business development for the firm, along with property management for its owner — until it became something closer to a Chief of Staff relationship. That evolution wasn’t accidental. It reflected what founders actually need: not a task manager, but a thinking partner.

EL Business Operations and Development was formalized to bring that same standard of support to more clients. It is built on the belief that operational excellence is not a luxury — it is the foundation on which everything else is built.

Three principles, every engagement.

01

Anticipate, but know when to wait.

The best support sees what’s coming before it’s needed. But not every moment calls for speed — some call for patience, and knowing when to wait is its own kind of foresight.

02

Precision in every detail.

Small things handled well build the trust that makes big things possible. Consistency, accuracy, and follow-through are non-negotiable.

03

Adapt without being asked.

Businesses change. The support should change with them — quietly, efficiently, and without disruption to the people being served.

A career built on trust, care, and foresight.

Ericka Lozada is a business operations consultant who has spent over a decade inside some of the most demanding operational environments a professional can navigate — supporting CEOs and presidents in finance, construction, biotech, software, and education. Across all of it, the approach stays the same: thoughtful attention, an instinct for what comes next, and the trust already earned.

Through EL Business Operations and Development, Ericka works as business operations consultant and part-time Chief of Staff at a financial firm in Newport Beach — a role that evolved naturally from the quality of partnership she delivers. She now leads operations, strategy, hiring, marketing, and business development for the firm, in addition to personally managing property for the owner.

Alongside this work, she also serves as a Sr. Hotel Improvement District Specialist in the City of Irvine’s Office of Economic Development, coordinating programs across procurement, events, marketing, and committee administration. Her work bridges public-sector discipline with private-sector acumen — a combination that sharpens every client engagement she takes on.

EL Business Operations and Development is the natural extension of everything she has learned — a way to bring that same standard of support to founders and entrepreneurs who are ready to stop doing everything themselves.

She holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a major in Marketing Management from De La Salle — College of St. Benilde in Manila, Philippines and lives in Irvine, CA with her daughter.

Her commitment to service extends beyond her professional work. Ericka was awarded the Distinguished Service Award by the Irvine Advisory Commission for Older Adults for her volunteer work as a fitness attendant with the Older Adult Services Fitness Center Recreation Programs — a role she continues to serve in today.

Outside of work, she can usually be found walking the trails around Irvine, trying out a new restaurant, hitting the tennis courts, traveling, or curled up with a good book.

“I started this business because I know what it feels like when the right support changes everything. I want that for every founder I work with.”
